🏏 BUCC Charity 6-a-Side Tournament 🏏
The Bournemouth University Cricket Club is excited to announce our upcoming 6-a-side charity cricket tournament, where university societies will battle it out on the pitch for a great cause!
This event will bring together societies from across the university for a fun, competitive day of cricket, community spirit, and fundraising. Whether you’re experienced cricketers or just fancy giving it a go with your society, everyone is welcome to enter a team and get involved!
All proceeds from the tournament will go towards the Ruth Strauss Foundation, a charity that supports families who are facing the devastating impact of the death of a parent and raises awareness of non-smoking lung cancer. The foundation was established in memory of Ruth Strauss, wife of former England cricket captain Andrew Strauss, following her diagnosis with lung cancer.
The Ruth Strauss Foundation works to provide professional emotional support for families where a parent has a life-limiting illness, helping them navigate incredibly difficult circumstances. Alongside this, the charity funds vital research and campaigns to increase awareness around lung cancer in non-smokers, aiming to improve early diagnosis and outcomes.
There will be a raffle on the day and which includes some incredible prizes aswell!🎁
